Released in 1981, 10 years after the original film, 'On Any Sunday II' seems at times to be nothing more than a weak attempt at reproducing, sometimes almost verbatim, what it's predecessor gained acclaim for. But it isn't that simple. This film does have its merits. The extensive coverage of Kenny Roberts, Sr. and his rise to "King" in motocycle racing is reason enough to own this video. Never before or since has so much of World GP Racing's "American" history been assembled on screen in such a colorful way. In addition, the film follows several other cycle mediums too, including the breaking of the motorcycle land speed record of over 300mph through the lens of an in-cockpit camera and the fun of supercross, motocross, trials, and flat-tracking. The soundtrack, although far from tasteful, does stand a few inches above that of the original film. Jeers for the blatant recreating of a few scenes featured in the original. Cheers for the awesome Kenny Roberts segments. Go ahead and buy it. The good points out weigh the bad!
